Donald Trumps proposed £1 billion Aberdeenshire golf development is to go before the Scottish Parliament for final approval after Aberdeenshire Council performed a u-turn on their decision not to approve Mr Trumps proposals. Following a seven-seven tie in the councils vote over whether to approve Mr Trumps plans, the chairmans casting vote went against the American billionaire.
Aberdeenshire Councils surprising move was followed by the news that the councillor who led the opposition against Mr Trump had been removed, allowing the golf development to be passed to the next and final vote. With many Scottish politicians believed to be eager to attract foreign investment to Scotland, it would be surprising if the golf resort wasnt approved.
Following Aberdeenshire Councils initial rejection, Mr Trump had threatened to take up an offer from the Northern Irish government to build the resort in County Antrim .
