Golfers Resolve Differences With Ryder Cup in Mind

Colin Montgomerie and Nick Faldo have resolved their differences following a falling out at the Seve Trophy in September. With the 2008 Ryder Cup in mind, the two golfers have put their spat behind them following Faldo’s outburst at the Seve Trophy. Faldo had accused Montgomerie of lacking team spirit, accusations which Montgomerie felt should not have been made public, though with the two potentially team mates at next year’s Ryder Cup, the pair have resolved their differences.

Montgomerie’s place in the European Ryder Cup team is uncertain, however, with the Scot failing to find the form required to qualify automatically. The Ryder Cup has provided many moments of joy for Europeans over recent years, with Europe winning five of the last six and attempting to win their fourth consecutive Ryder Cup at Valhalla Golf Club from 19th-21st September 2008.
