Donald Trump is considering building his £1 billion golf resort in Northern Ireland after Aberdeenshire councillors rejected his plans on the grounds of environmental concerns. Mr Trump has decided against appealing the decision as it would have taken around nine months to hear a new decision. However, after local people and businesses protested against the councils decision, an emergency meeting has been called for next week at which the committees decision could be overturned.
Mr Trump is reported to have received more than 50 offers of land on which to build his land, including one suggested by the Irish government. In fact, the American entrepreneur has apparently signed an option to buy a property in Country Antrim, Northern Ireland, on which he would build the expensive development.
The development will include two championship golf courses, a 450 room luxury hotel, 950 apartments for rent and 500 homes .
