World number twelve Justin Rose has won the 2007 European PGA Tour Order of Merit title, following a three-way play-off against Denmarks Soren Kjeldsen and fellow countryman Simon Dyson at the Volvo Masters at Valderrama. Rose acclaimed the success as the pinnacle of [his] career so far, having pipped South African world number four Ernie Els and world number seven Padraig Harrington to the title.
Harrington and Els went into their respective season-enders with a chance of winning the title, though unlike Harrington and Rose, Els declined to take part in the Volvo Masters at Valderrama, instead opting to play in the Singapore Masters. Harrington finished fourth at the Volvo Masters behind the three play-off finalists, whilst Els missed the cut at the Singapore Masters.
27-year old Rose becomes the youngest Order of Merit winner in 18 years, though a nervy back nine nearly saw him throw away the title.
