Golf Tour Championship Rescheduled

The PGA Tour has revealed that next year’s Tour Championship is to be postponed to give players more time to prepare for the Ryder Cup . With The Ryder Cup to be held at the Valhalla Golf Club on September 19th-21st, the PGA Tour’s policy board have decided to move the Tour Championship to the 25th-28th September.

The Tour Championship is once again being played at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, where it has been staged for each of the previous four years. The event is the fourth and final tournament in the FedExCup playoff series.

Meanwhile, PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem, who announced the news, also announced that the 48 events that make up the 2008 PGA Tour schedule will offer total prize money of £136 million.
