Strange Inducted into Hall of Fame

Curtis Strange, Hubert Green, Joe Carr, Kel Nagle, Charles Blair Macdonald and Se Ri Pak are to be inducted into The Golf Hall of Fame next month. There are currently 145 members – 114 men and 31 women. Members are inducted into the Hall of Fame in one of five categories: PGA Tour / Champions Tour, LPGA Tour, International, Lifetime Achievement or Veterans.

Curtis Strange is to be inducted into the PGA Tour category, having played his way to the top of the PGA Tour money list in 1985, 1987 and 1988, with 17 PGA Tour victories in total. Strange has chosen his brother Allan to introduce him at the ceremony.

Hubert Green has been selected in the Veterans’ category and will be introduced by ex-fellow Champions Tour player Fuzzy Zoeller. Meanwhile, the late Joe Carr has been selected in the Lifetime Achievement category and becomes the first Irishman in the Hall of Fame. Golfing great Jack Nicklaus will speak on behalf of Carr.

86-year old Kel Nagle will be inducted into the Lifetime Achievement category, as will the late Charles Blair Macdonald has been selected in the Lifetime Achievement category, who built the first 18-hole course in the United States as well as playing a prominent role in the creation of the United States Golf Association.

30-year old Pak will become the first South Korean in the Hall of Fame and will be inducted into the LPGA Tour category.
