Aberdeenshire Council has been accused of breaking the law for backing Donald Trumps proposals for a £1 billion golf development, after its own planning committee rejected the plans. Scottish town and country planner John Agnew made the claim in a legal submission to the Scottish Governments public inquiry into Trumps attempts to gain planning approval for the golf resort .
The protest group Sustainable Aberdeenshire is represented by Mr Agnew, and was formed to oppose the development of the golf resort. Mr Trump had seen his proposals rejected on 29th November last year, though chairman of the planning committee Martin Ford was sacked two weeks later as the council gave its backing to the development.
