A new five year deal has been agreed between the Tiger Woods Foundation and Chevron making the company the main sponsor of the World Challenge Golf Tournament .
The tournament, an annual fundraiser, hopes to expand their youth development programmes with this new deal and is considering opening the scheme out to other parts of the US. Part of the foundations work is to provide scholarships and grants .
Tiger Woods will be hosting the event and will have 16 top players playing. In the past winners have been Woods, Davis Love III, Luke Donald, Padraig Harrington and Tom Lechman. Each player will benefit by at least $170,000, the total purse for the event being $5.75m.
