Tiger Woods has unveiled his first golf course as part of The Tiger Woods Dubai golf community, itself part of Dubailand. Woods, the chairman of Tiger Woods Design, has teamed up with Tatweer a Dubai government owned real estate enterprise to build the Al-Ruwaya golf course. The 13 million square foot golf course will be an 18 hole par 72 course, stretching 7,800 yards.
The course is being built on a 55 million square foot patch of desert land, and will also feature a golf academy and accommodation. In addition to a luxury boutique hotel, there will be 22 palaces, 75 mansions and 100 villas, which along with the golf course, are scheduled to be completed by 2009.
Dubailand is being touted as Dubais equivalent to Orlando, with the 24 project venture costing nearly 50 billion. However, Dubailand isnt scheduled for completion until 2025.
