Englands Luke Donald has confirmed he is to participate in Januarys Qatar Masters . The 30 year old will compete in Doha from January 24th 27th for the record prize fund of £1.3 million. The 2008 Qatar Masters is the 11th time the event has taken place, with its reputation growing by the year.
Amongst Donalds competitors this year will be Sergio Garcia, Retief Goosen and Adam Scott a prestige that the tournament would have struggled to attract in previous years. The winner will receive $416,660 of the $2.5 million total prize fund.
The Qatar Masters has been dubbed as part two of a three part Gulf Swing, with the Abu Dhabi Championship preceding the event and the Dubai Desert Classic following the tournament in Qatar .
