Property development group Oceanico have bought the resort which they intend to develop into a £250 million golf resort. It is the first time the Portugal based company has developed a golf resort outside of Portugal, with the group reported to be planning further acquisitions in 2008.
The site will be the 630 acre Little River course in North Carolina, which is believed to have cost Oceanico a reported £65 million. The development group has stated that it plans to add heavily to the 64 apartments already at the golf resort. With planning permissionin place for 1,150 homes, it is clear that there is a great capacity for development.
Oceanico have also made plans for a hotel, a medical office, tennis courts, an arts centre, office space and retail space, ensuring the resort appeals to all visitors.
