Two men have paid $100,000 each for the right to caddy for the former Masters champion David Weir. The caddy packages were auctioned off as part of Weirs 36 hour long Miracle Golf Drive for Kids which raised an impressive total of $1.2 million for the Childrens Health and Hospital Foundation of Saskatchwean. David Dube, one of the successful bidders for the caddy package, also paid $75,000 to play a few holes with Weir at Saskatoons Riverside Country Club.
There had originally only been one caddy package up for grabs, though as the bidding between David Dube and Brett Wilson escalated to the $100,000 mark, Weir suggested that the bidding stop as he was willing to make two packages available if both men paid $100,000 an offer accepted by both men. Both of the men will now carry Weirs golf clubs at a future pro-am event anywhere in the world. Weir also revealed that Taylor Made have agreed to make both men a custom made set of clubs.
Mr Dube revealed that he has caddied before, but with his most illustrious event as a caddy currently the Canadian Amateur at Riverside, Dube is set for a set up when he shoulders Weirs bag.
