Seve Ballesteros has been taken to hospital after fainting. The Spaniard had been feeling dizzy on Monday prior to fainting and was subsequently admitted to La Paz hospital after briefly losing consciousness. The hospital revealed he was in a stable condition but was undergoing diagnostic tests. The Ballesteros family instructed the hospital to make no further information on the 51 year olds condition or treatment available.
The three time British Open champion only officially retired last year following a highly successful career. In addition to his British Opens, the innovative golfer also won two Masters and won 50 times on the European Tour . Ballesteros was also a consistent member of the European Ryder Cup team, helping to revive Europes fortunes in the tournament both as player and captain. His success in the game was recognised in 1999 when he was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame.
Ballesteross stay in hospital is not expected to be a long one, as although the Spaniard has a history of back problems, he is said to be in good health overall.
