Tiger Woods has unexpectedly returned to the golf course where he played his last game before surgery. However, whereas on that occasion Woods was battling through the pain to win the US Open following a playoff with Rocco Mediate, this time he donned a green bib as he caddied for John Abel. Woods was at San Diegos Torrey Pines thanks to the Tee It Up with Tiger sweepstakes and showed no signs of the knee injury which has plagued him in recent years. Woods said, It was fun. This was totally cool. Ive caddied before many times. For me to be out here and to be able to do it again, its always fun.
Woods revealed that he is able to chip and put, and can walk without any problems, but remains unsure when he will be able to make a competitive return to the sport. Woods said, Thats the most frustrating thing, because I dont know. I like having things planned out. I like understanding what I need to shoot for, but I dont know. And the surgeons dont know either, because theyve never dealt with an injury like this for a person who plays golf at an elite level.
