Nick Faldo has denied giving away his Ryder Cup pairings after he was caught on camera with a piece of paper with some of his teams initials on. The note showed a number of pairings, including Sergio Garcia and Lee Westwood, Padraig Harrington with Robert Karlsson, as well as the initials of Paul Casey, Soren Hansen, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Graeme McDowell, Ian Poulter, Justin Rose and Oliver Wilson. Notably, Henrik Stensons name was absent from the list; though in another photo his name appeared on its own beneath Harrington and Karlsson, whilst Paul Casey didnt feature.
Faldo initially joked that the list was merely the lunch list, claiming the note was sandwich requests for the guys, just making sure who wants the tuna, who wants the beef, who wants the ham. However, he later conceded that he had made a mistake, but claimed the list revealed Thursdays practice pairings. Faldo said, OK, I've been caught - I learned a lesson, you now know the pairings and we are going to play foursomes on the front nine."
An irritated Faldo later rebuked, I haven't put numbers next to them yet, have I? We don't know what order they're going out in, so I'm safe. And that was on the seventh tee. If the photographer was on the 13th or 14th it all changed, so it's all different now.
