Seve Ballesteross nephew has announced that his uncle intends to return to golf as soon as next year following brain surgery . The Spaniard is not currently considering resuming his playing career as a golfer, but is instead hoping to be fully recovered in order to captain Europes Royal Trophy team. The 51 year old played a major part in the creation of the Royal Trophy matchplay event and led Europe to victory over Asia in the first two years of the golf tournament in 2006 and 2007.
Having had to undergo a serious of operations to remove a brain tumour in the latter parts of 2008, the Spaniard has now been able to begin rehabilitation. His nephew Ivan Ballesteros said, He's very positive, he's walking every day, he's determined to get better. It's still too early to tell if he will play again but one of his goals is to be Europe captain at the Royal Trophy next year, and he's serious about it.
Ivan Ballesteros, who drove his uncle to hospital the night he collapsed, also revealed the horrible dream the family experienced when Seve collapsed at Madrid airport in October. He said, "We all thought it was a nightmare. The worst was the third operation, we really didn't know if he would make it. It was like heads or tails.
